Mr. Connor's reach, credibility and resources span across the globe, which continues to help CACH develop key relationships at home and abroad. Formerly the Founding Chairman of CACH, Mr. Connor was an integral part of the development and launch of the business in 2006. To date, he energizes the process of investment capital procurement and client relations around the world.
Mr. Connor served two years as the Secretary of State for Texas. This position is the highest appointed office in Texas and functions as the Chief International Officer and the Chief Border Affairs Officer for the State. During his time in office, Secretary Connor was Chief Liaison to the diplomatic representatives of over 80 countries with Consulates or Honorary Consulates in the State. He welcomed and hosted dozens of heads of state to Texas including Presidents, Prime Ministers and royalty. Secretary Connor led numerous trade missions and other initiatives overseas and has visited over 60 countries, both personally and officially.
Mr. Connor previously held several other key senior government positions including General Counsel of the Department of Agriculture and General Counsel of the Environmental Quality Commission, as well as serving as a senior advisor to two Texas Governors. Mr. Connor received official appointments from former Governors George W. Bush, William P. Clements, Jr. and Rick Perry. He has also served as an analyst for the British Government during the premiership of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He was a top aide to the Chairman of the House of Lords Foreign Policy Committee and the Chairman of the Lords Defense Committee.
Mr. Connor is Principal for Texas Global, an international business transactions and government consulting firm. He also practices law part-time and spends time as a lobbyist. Mr. Connor earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas State University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
